On February 28 and March 1, the Italian Pavilion hosted the last stage of the Intellectual Property Award, a competition between Italian technological patents developed by Universities, Research Centers and Scientific Hospitalization and Treatment Institutes, organized by MISE in collaboration with Netval. Of the 20 patents presented in sectors ranging from agrifood to cybersecurity and life sciences to green mobility, the works of 7 Italian universities were awarded.

Among these, two came from the University of Bologna. These are “Re-paper”, reusable silica for decontaminating paper that promises to innovate the paper recycling sector, and “Self-confident”, online learning for detecting depth sensors failures, which offers a solution to increase the safety and effectiveness of autonomous driving systems.
